Sum of the Nameplate Capacity (MW) column over the rows of the Planned sheet of the EIA-860M monthly workbook whose Technology is Onshore Wind Turbine and Offshore Wind Turbine. The Planned sheet lists generators of 1 MW and above that developers have reported to EIA with a planned operation date and a status code: (P) planned, approvals not initiated; (L) approvals pending; (T) approvals received; (U) under construction, at most half complete; (V) under construction, more than half complete; (TS) construction complete, not yet in commercial operation; (OT) other. The value is the whole pipeline regardless of status; the status split is on the /capacity page and in capacity_projects.

Puerto Rico is reported in separate sheets and is not included. Each monthly file restates the full planned inventory, so the series is one point per data month, labelled with that month as source_revision; earlier months come from EIA's archive when EIA_860M_HISTORY_MONTHS (default 13) is above 1.Ingestion rejects values outside 0 to 2,000,000 MW.13 periods with values for this geography, 2025-07-01 to 2026-07-01.
